Mystery Farm Revealed Mangelsen Place Near Osceola
Mystery farm identified as Ina Mangelsen’s property three miles east and two south of Osceola. Owner’s son Victor Mangelsen lives in the large house with wife and six month old Duane. The 320 acre site dates to 1872 with graves from a smallpox epidemic. Mangelsens practice soil conservation. 290 acres cropland with irrigated corn yielding 100 to 125 bushels.

Homecoming Queen Bonnie Mentink Crowned at Osceola Festivities
Bonnie Mentink daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Mentink was crowned Homecoming Queen during halftime of the Osceola St Ed football game. Rodger Wright son of Mr and Mrs Don Wright served as Captain of the 1957 squad. The parade featured about twenty floats as the crowd enjoyed warm weather and high winds.
