Bishop Kucera Marks Episcopal Jubilee Observance

Attendees included 30 archbishops bishops and abbots members of his family priests and lay representatives from each parish and state dignitaries. Duck Season Opens Saturday Morning Across Nebraska 75 Days
The 1955 Nebraska duck season begins Saturday October 8 one half hour before sunrise, with a 75 day season the longest in years. Tractor accident injures Osceola farmer Jerry Henggeler
Gerald Henggeler, a young farmer living north of Osceola, was injured last Friday morning while hooking a trailer to his tractor. He placed a hand on the starter, the switch sparked, and the tractor rolled back, bruising both legs. He freed himself and was taken to Osceola Hospital where he remains confined.

Garrett J Mentink born May 5 1878 in Seward County Nebraska died October 1 1955 after a stroke and prolonged illness. He leaves wife Jennie and eleven children plus 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Final rites conducted at St Pauls Lutheran Church Utica with interment in Utica cemetery.
