Osceola selects Ann Cerny as representative for Grand Island Harmony Parade this Saturday. She is a senior at OHS and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Cerny. Activities include pep club girls glee annual mixed chorus swing choir band volleyball track and art writing swimming.
Polk County Extension Club announces its annual Achievement Day at the Vik ing Center Stromsburg on Monday October 8 at 2 p m Host clubs from Stromsburg area. Ernest Haight and wife David City will present Hand and Machine Quilt Demonstration with quilting shortcuts and full size quilts on display. Members with 25 years or more in home extension will be honored at a noon luncheon at Bit of Sweden Stromsburg Reservations via Extension Office by October 4. Public welcome.

Eleanor M. Samuelson, 65, died Friday at York General Hospital. Services were Monday at Metz Chapel York with Rev. Laurel J. Grigg officiating. Burial Greenwood Cemetery York. Born July 10, 1908 to Frank D Mills and Nellie Pheasant Mills. Married C. W. Samuelson January 4, 1931. Resident of York since 1933. Member of the Does Osceola Chapter of the Eastern Star.
