The Osceola Methodists will dedicate their new church on December 10 1961 at 2 30 p m. This marks the completion of the third Osceola church edifice begun in 1878 with a 4000 structure, rebuilt in 1893 for about 11000, and replaced by the present five level building begun 1955 with a cornerstone laid July 28 1955.

The local Chamber of Commerce held its regular meeting Monday night. The Christmas committee presented the pre season program and plans for an ad. The High School Band will receive a free show and popcorn as a thank you for a successful year. A Bootstrap meeting is set for December 8 at the Lutheran church and lunch will be served. The next gathering is December 18 with election expected. President Bert Gissler is favored to serve another year.

The Leo Kresha firm five miles north of Osceola suffered extensive damage in a fire that started around 2 a.m. Sunday. A passing motorist John Bernt alerted the family and fire crews. A corn crib a machine shed two tractors and other equipment were lost. Damages run to several thousand dollars. Firemen saved nearby grain buildings. A tractor wiring short is suspected as the cause.
