The Silver Creek Fire Department fought three blazes in one afternoon including a church call with no damage. A farmer, Fritz Jenson, rescued a pelican found along a roadside.

Four Hospitalized After Car Wreck Near Osceola
An accident eight miles west and one mile north of Osceola around 10:30 p.m. left four young people injured. Marvin Kearney driver Denny Nelson and LaVerne Nelson of Osceola and Marilyn Mustard of Clarks were injured. Mustard in critical condition at Omaha Methodist Hospital. The 1947 Chevrolet coach was completely wrecked.
