About 20 friends gathered Monday evening November 16 at the Elner Ahlquist home to bid the family farewell before their move to Stromsburg. Guests brought lunch and presented a gift to the departing Ahlquists. Mrs. Esther Shelmadine spent Thanksgiving in Kearney, with other visitors joining Mr. and Mrs. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Marks, and Mr. and Mrs. Shelmadine of Portland for a 50th wedding anniversary observance for Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kueber.
