Elizabeth Widener born Richmond Ohio March 20 1829 died Hemingford Nebraska November 12 1914 aged 85 years 7 months 22 days. She moved with parents to Van Buren County Iowa in 1846 married Nelson Reed Dawson in 1849 and they had nine children seven surviving six sons and one daughter. Her husband died in 1888 and she lived with her children most years. She fell in Hemingford and died shortly after. Funeral in Kens Aqua Iowa and buried beside her husband. survived by one brother and one sister Mrs Larkwood.
News of H. G. Dickinson's death at Lincoln on Friday follows his earlier move from Osceola where he and his wife ran a retail floor and feed store in the Beebe hotel building. Interment was arranged in his former home at Ulysses, and friends in Osceola express sorrow and extend sympathy to Mrs. Dickinson.
Masons of Osceola and nearby areas held a Thursday night meeting to initiate several new members. About eighty members attended the program and banquet, with nearly half being visiting members, creating a lively and enjoyable gathering.

The Inter Ocean notes abundant crop yields saved the nation from a worsened trade balance caused by the war. Strong grain production supplied food exports when European mills shrank and cotton demand fell, allowing Europe to pay with gold rather than goods and easing wartime economic strain.
A Woodland California cow named Tillie Molster-Friesian, five years old, reportedly produced just over 50,000 pounds of milk in one year, a world record. Her owners earned about 30000 pounds of musk from Tillie and gained fame in dairy circles while the calm mind and steady work were praised by observers.
