Janes BE Clifton born Oct 8 1863 in Dixon Tl died Nov 2 1917 at age 54 after an accident crossing the U P railroad while returning from town during harvest. He came to Saunders County Neb in 1871 with his parents, moved to Polk County in 1876, settled on the home place, married Nov 2 1904 to Mrs Ethel Oliver, and left four children. He was a charter member of the Highlander Lodge and remembered as a good father and husband.
