The fall term of district court opened in Osceola with Judge Hastings presiding. Several civil cases were disposed of and the docket set for remaining cases. About 200 people attended the Luther League Rally at the Osceola Lutheran Church with reps from Polk County and towns including Newman Grove St Edwards Genoa York and Central City. Afternoon music by Hardville Choir featured speeches by Bernice Sward and Edith Brinnell a Malek Osceola paper was read. Evening program included life of Martin Luther pictures.

Polk county Agricultural Conservation committee announced 1940 parity payment terms tightening eligibility. Producers must plant within total corn and wheat acreage allotments and avoid over planting on other farms. Polk County Farmers Set for P F L Banquet and Clinics
Twenty six Polk county farmers are eligible to attend the P F L banquet and clinics in Omaha on November 28. Most have finished their final report forms and will travel to the event, with others completing reports in the next two weeks.
