Changes in Series FE and H Savings Bond limits
The limits now allow up to $20 000 of Series E bonds per calendar year and up to $30 900 face value of Series H bonds. Advance notice before redeeming Series H bonds is no longer required except when redeeming in the month before an interest payment date. Interest on Series E bonds accrues tax free until cashing or final maturity, and E bonds can convert to H bonds with deferred taxation on accrued interest until cashing or maturity.
