Osceola Bulldogs secure final home victory 25-12 against Palmer on October 25. Jerry Gondringer opened with a 48 yard touchdown run, Studley added a second scoring drive, and Ken Kropatsch capped the day with an early third quarter TD and extra point. Palmer battled back with two touchdowns, but the Bulldogs held on as penalties plagued both sides. The team closes the season November 3 at Genoa.

In Osceola Valley on October 30 a 35-man crew with 9 pickers 3 shellers and trucks gathered at the Carl Timm farm to husk shell and haul about 6500 bushels of corn. Mrs Timm and Harriet Johnson hosted a morning lunch while six women arranged a neighborhood pot luck dinner at Valley Church. Don Byers brought apples candy and cigars for noon. a mobile diner in a pickup operated by Hilda Yungdahl Elizabeth Yungdahl and Dorothy Hastings provided afternoon meals.

Surprise 50th Wedding Anniversary for Judge Jack Steeple
Courthouse staff and county commissioners honored County Judge Jack Steeple and his wife at a surprise anniversary party on Tuesday Oct 24. The Steeples wed in Howard County on Nov 8 1911.
