Nebraska Masonry Celebrates Centennial in 1957 Omaha
An 1857 charter formed the Nebraska Grand Lodge with representatives from Illinois Missouri and Iowa. Robert Carrol Jordan was elected first Grand Master. Osceola Lodge No 65 founded in 1876 has 92 members 27 past masters. The largest lodge is Covert No 11 in Omaha with 1600 members and Nebraska totals over 48000. The Grand Lodge Centennial will be observed in Omaha June 4-6 1957 with expected large delegations.

Army Specialist Nyberg Appears In NBC Arm ed Forces Salute
Army Specialist Third Class Ronald G. Nyberg, son of Mrs Roge M Nyberg of Polk, took part May 12 in Fort Sill Oklahoma segment of NBC telecast Wide Wide World saluting the armed forces. Nyberg, a clerk in 598th Field Artillery Battalion Battery B at Fort Sill, enlisted September 1955 and trained at Fort Chaffee Arkansas.

YMCA State Camp Opens at Camp Sheldon near Columbus

Osceola Public Schools Superintendent Announces Departure
Clair W. Walber, who has led Osceola Public Schools for seven years, says he will not return next year. He has been offered Tekamah Nebraska’s superintendent post and will move once he settles his home and affairs. Tekamah, a Class B district, has fluctuated between B and A in past years and may gain an A with enrollment shifts. Several interviews have been held for a successor so far with none chosen.
