Dr Donald Clifton To Speak At Commencement
Dr Donald O Clifton associate Professor of Educational Psychology and History and Principles of Education at the University of Nebraska will be guest speaker at the O H S commencement exercises Tuesday May 24 at 8 00 p m in the high school auditorium. He is a native of Butte Nebraska and has earned BA MA and PhD from Nebraska. He served as Air Force navigator in World War II and has taught chemistry and mathematics in public schools. He also co directs the Nebraska Human Resources Research Foundation which runs laboratories with 20 students studying gifted children teens and orthopedic children and researches personnel selection.

Scouts Second Appeal For Camping Funds

Pension payments open to veterans under new law

Retired Polk Co Farmer Dies Last Rites Monday Morning
Pete Reisdorff of Silver Creek, age 84, a retired Polk County farmer, died Friday morning after long illness. Survived by wife Lucy and three sons Carl Alfred and Raymond all of Silver Creek. Funeral services were held Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Silver Creek with burial there.

British paratroopers hike toward New York reach halfway mark
Sgts. Mervyn Evans and Pat Maloney, British paratroopers, walked from San Francisco to Osceola halting after 53 miles for the day. Their attendant Roy Rogers travels with them in a jeep and trailer. Weston, Nebraska, is the expected destination by Wednesday night.

The 1960 Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom occurred May 13 in the High School Auditorium. Theme Cinderella with blue decor, castle scenes, and a pink carriage filled the setting.
