ASCS reminds farmers to check crops and certification dates
Polk County farmers enrolled in the 1972 wheat and feed grain set aside program should review their spring information to ensure compliance with chosen options. Each option has distinct requirements and certification for both wheat and feed grain now must be completed by June 25, eliminating the June 1 and July 15 dates. Individual farms may have different rules based on the selected signup options, and noncompliance could cut program payments and price support loans.

Friendly Neighbors met Tuesday May 9 at the home of Mrs. Eugene Sterup with eleven members present. Roll call asked plans for summer. They discussed a July picnic and spent the evening playing 10 point pitch. High prize went to Mrs. Eugene Sterup and low to Mrs. Vernon Kuhnel.
