On May 11 and 12 Don Gabriel and Martyn Youngstrom attended the State Track and Field Events in Lincoln. Martyn placed 6th in high jump at 1 00 and finished 8th in the 880 at 2 30. Don placed 6th in his heat of the mile at 2 30 on Saturday. Both improved on state performance against more experienced competitors.
Rev. Thure Johnson serves as vice pastor with Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and Morning Worship at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Thor Matson will lead the service. Thursday evening features choir practice at 8:00 p.m.

Calvary Lutheran Church of the Synodical Conference invites the public to join Divine Service every Sunday at 8 p m. Pastor A B Habben leads the worship at the church located a half block south of the post office.
One hour Bible study and group discussion open to all. Held Fridays at 8 p.m. four miles west, two north and thirty four west of Osceola at District No. 48 schoolhouse. Everyone urged to attend.
Mrs Sander Peterson and Mrs Laura Olseen thank friends for cards and visits after hospitalization. Mother's Day dinner held at Edgar Peterson home. Mr and Mrs William Herrmann hosted Sunday dinner with Mrs John Davis Omah a Mr and Mrs John Herrmann and Mrs A J Herrmann. Sheridan Van Hoosen discharged from Omaha hospital after railroad yard accident and now convalescing at Logan Van Hoosen's Osceola home.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ostrom and family of Stromsburg and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lewis and Jimmie enjoyed a Mother's Day dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Ostrom.
Mr and Mrs Lee Snodgrass and children of Lincoln and Mr and Mrs Wayne Parks were Sunday guests at the home of their parents Mr and Mrs Harry Carman in Columbus.
