Moving Pictures for Fathers Day at Presbyterian Church

The church observes Fathers Day with a special address by the pastor next Sabbath morning. Music includes choir anthem and male chorus selection. The evening sermon features moving pictures as a novel illustration, followed by an 8 PM song service and brief sermon.

U P to Introduce Motor Service Next Monday

Osceola committee members C. E. Milks O. E. Mickey and Walter Monson visited Central City for a joint meeting with other commercial clubs. They met U P representative Cahill and agreed to resolutions pledging towns to support the new motor service to make it financially profitable with Sunday service added, as an experimental arrangement for the present.

Denis the French Percheron Foaled 1901 in Osceola

Denis a jet black 1700 pound, 16 hand thoroughbred Percheron stallion from Central City. He will season 1912 at multiple Osceola stops with insured terms and colt standing prices. Market notes and local sales include Osceola varieties and blue granite ware. Miss Ina Lockard returned home after a visit. Esmeralda to appear at Osceola Opera House May 10.

Shank Case Hearing Opens in District Court

The State versus Harm Shank is before Judge Good this week in Osceola district court. Griffin, a key witness who testified against Shank, claimed the arson involved both men and received immunity. he later disappeared and was recaptured in Spokane before returning to Osceola. The trial draws large county attention as defense and prosecution present conflicting accounts of the October 15 fire at the Everett livery barn and the deaths of seven horses including stallion Creh sus valued at $2,000.

Easter Storm of 1873 Recalled by Local Letters

Cedar Creek correspondent opened discussion on the April blizzard of 1873 with readers sending recollections. Liberty Clark C H Anderson and Mrs William Hanshew plus John Skinner all place the storm starting on the evening of April 13 and lasting several days. The Record notes space limits prevent printing all letters while confirming the 13th start date.
