Incumbent weather delays the Tax Workshops set for Stromsburg and Polk on March 13. The Stromsburg 1:30 p.m. session moves to April 5 at the Methodist Church basement and the Polk 7:30 p.m. session shifts to the same time and April 5 at the Community Hall. Additional workshops remain in Osceola March 22 at 1:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church basement and Shelby March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the E U B Church basement. Public invited.

Weed District Annual Meeting in Osceola on Monday

Feed Grain Signup Deadline for 1962 Program
Nebraska Extension economists urge farmers to sign up for the 1962 Feed Grain Program by March 30. Producers must file an intention to participate at the County ASCS office and specify planned diversions of corn, grain sorghum, and barley acres to soil conserving uses. The minimum diversion is 20 percent of base acreage, though larger diversions are allowed. Strong winds threaten crops unless windbreaks are used to slow them and reduce losses.
