District 54 report notes Mrs Mary Miller mother of Loren Miller died at home in Polk on Wednesday. Funeral services were held at the Osceola Methodist Church Saturday afternoon. Local families and guests from Omaha and Waterloo attended related gatherings and visits nearby.

District 18 residents Mr and Mrs Wallace Benda joined Mrs Alfred Benda of Columbus for Wednesday dinner. Otto Benda and his wife from Eugene Oregon were guests and spent the day in the Alfred Benda home. Victoria Staroscik Osceola was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr and Mrs Frank Ziemba and sons. Louis Robak attended his nephew Tom Marsica's funeral in Farwell Thursday morning.

Residents hosted relatives and friends from Ames Nebraska Lincoln and York with numerous Sunday and Friday afternoon and evening visits. Notable stops included the Colberg family in Lincoln and the Bond family in Stromsburg while local clubs and church families held small gatherings and supper events.
