Mrs Ralph Jarmin died at her northwest Shelby home at 9 30 Saturday morning after weeks of illness. Funeral will be from Weeley Chapel at 2 p m tomorrow. She leaves her husband nine children two brothers in Washington and two sisters ibyean. She was 85 years old.
Dr Taylor has postponed the Taylor Travelogue lecture series due to schedule conflicts. He recently returned from a Town trip where he spoke at four cities including Des Moines and drew good audiences at each stop. A new date will be announced next week and Osceola residents will still have the chance to hear him later.
The Osceola high school debate team defeated Stromsburg in a unanimous judge decision at the High School Auditorium Friday night. Osceola argued for government ownership with Agnes Newcomer, Lawrence Shaw, and Gordon Danielsen leading the affirmative, against Julian Nordland, Russell Lindbury, and William McCue for Stromsburg. Mayor I. C. Berba presided and university professors Hinman, Aylesworth, and Sorenson served as judges.
Last Friday March 20 patrons toured classroom displays and heard remarks from Col B D Hayward about the American Boy. The High School orchestra provided music during tours and a school drill closed the day with gymnasium performances. The event highlighted teacher and pupil effort across grades.

Farmers are urged to exhibit cows at the county fair to receive free lime rock for liming one acre of ground. The offer comes from Rystrom IMP. Co of Stromsburg Nebraska. Participants must arrange pickup at delivery to place rock before seeding and notify to secure rock in time.
