Changes to 1962 Feed Grain Program Highlights

University of Nebraska extension economist Philip Henderson outlines four key changes from the 1961 Feed Grain Program. Cooperating farmers must join seed grain and barley programs for payments on deferring land and price supports. Fallow land counts as conserving acres. Sweet sorghums used for silage count toward base acreage, those for hay do not. Diverted irrigated feed grains may receive irrigated-rate payments on dry land if irrigated crops are reduced and no offset on dryland.
