Dedication Ceremony Tickets Likely Sold Out at Hospital Event

Ticket sales for the Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital dedication show a full house with about 450 holders. Lloyd Green and Kenneth Cornish led sales, redistributing unsold tickets to outlets to balance oversold supplies while no tickets remain. Those without banquet tickets may attend the program after the banquet begins in the auditorium.

Valley Sunshine Club Elects Officers at Meeting

The Valley Sunshine Club met at Mrs. Dale Buchta's home to organize and elect officers. Karen Ferris was named president, Mavis Carlson vice president, Janet Mickey secretary treasurer, and Marilyn Finecy news reporter. Next meeting set for Friday March 6 at Gust Carlson.

Serviceman Ralph W. Dore graduates NCO Academy

Army MSgt. Ralph W. Dore, Stromsburg, recently completed the Fifth Army Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Fort Riley Kansas. He trained in leadership and instruction and will be assigned to Fort Leonard Wood Missouri to support the Reserve Forces Training Program. Doremus entered the Army in 1942 and has earned the World War II Victory Medal and the UN and Korean Service Medals.

Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital Dedication

A dedication program for the Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital in Osceola Nebraska honors Dr Charles W Jeffrey and his mother. The open house runs March 11 with tours from 9 to 5 and a dedication ceremony at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Roy Frizzell Dies at 70 in Silver Creek

Roy Frizzell a 70 year old retired Polk County farmer died suddenly at his Silver Creek home at seven this Tuesday morning March 6. Funeral services were set for Thursday at the Silver Creek Methodist Church with burial in the Silver Creek Cemetery. Rev H R Weber officiated. Surviving son Dale Frizzell of this city.

Beatrice Chosen For Mrs America Contest

Beatrice Nebraska will host the Mrs America State contest on April 18. Six contestants from across the state advance after eliminations conducted by local gas and utility companies. The winner becomes Mrs Nebraska and will compete for the national title in Ellinor Village Florida in May.

About 115 people attended the county Farm Bureau gathering at Polk Community Hall on Friday March 2. The 29th annual meeting of the Farmers Union Co operative Oil Association of Polk County was held March 3 1956 at Osceola High School Auditorium. Reports showed 1955 sales of 36833478 with a net profit of 2546782. New propane bulk plant added. Members heard talks from Wilbur Smith Wilbur Crown and G Clarence Carlson. Final Rites Today for Lew Miller

Lew Miller, 80, died suddenly at his home on March 6. Services are at Kepner Funeral Home at 2 30 this Thursday with burial in Osceola cemetery. He is survived by two daughters Mrs C E Sauter of Clarks and Mrs Ivan Stratton of Osceola, a step daughter Mrs Roy Sargent of Mitchell SD, three sons Arthur of Clarks Lloyd and Clyde of Osceola, a sister Mrs Clara J Horst and a brother Frank, both of Osceola.
