Osceola plains the county wide Fourth of July event with boxing and wrestling on the square at 7 PM, a Polk vs Osceola ball game, a nine o'clock pavement dance, the Lincoln Collegians, a fireworks airplane shower, a pet parade, and an Auditorium program. Pioneer Mother Called Home in Osceola Nebraska
Luella J. Cruise Bond born June 4 1850 in Itasca County died June 29 1927 at 2 A M aged 77 25. She was daughter of John and Harriet Cruise one of eleven children. She married Henry L Bond December 20 1870 and lived in Hackberry Polk County later moving to Osceola. Surviving children are Louise Ware and O L Bond. Funeral 3 PM at Presbyterian Church with Osceola Cemetery interment.

Booster trip to Osceola promotes Fourth celebration
The first in a series of booster trips reached Silver Creek Monday with about twenty five cars. Residents greeted the visitors warmly and listened to Phil Campbell’s stirring talk on celebrating the Fourth in Osceola. Lou Israel's band played while a double quartet sang and Jack Steeple handed out bon bons. The event ended with a cordial reception and plans for a follow up visit tonight to Polk and Stromsburg.
