Local gentlemen voted last night to organize and incorporate a society to be known as The American League of Good Will. The group aims to foster better citizenship, patriotism, and respect for the flag while remaining nonpartisan and open, with a plan proposed by Thos. E Barr. Executive officers include Barr as president and A F Johnson as vice president. A local Osceola branch will be organized.

The Stromsburg ceremony for Bernard Strom and Josephine Lindquist at the Lutheran parsonage featured Rev. C. H. Hemberg officiating with Alice Stromberg as bridesmaid and Glen Lindburg as best man. The couple travels to Omaha for a brief honeymoon and will return today. Bernard Stromberg, son of Chas., served in the 355th Infantry, 89th Division, and co-owns the Park Filling Station. He and Josephine are prominent Stromsburg residents. In Clarks, Harry Henning and Alice Schott wed on June 21 with Rev. Father Conkling presiding. They honeymoon briefly and return to the Henning farm. a large neighbor reception followed. Henning is an energetic farmer. Alice Schott taught school after graduation from Silver Creek.

Woodmen Hold Special Meeting and Drill Team Formed
Woodmen members from near and far gathered Thursday night to timber in the local forest. Hospital Service for Vets Opens at Henry Ford
Disabled World War veterans of Michigan are being treated at Henry Ford Hospital on the same basis as private patients. More than fifty men have begun treatment, distributed among hospital units as rooms permit. The plan, approved after a meeting with Alvin M. Owsley, Edsel B. Fire destroys Bert Wheeler home in Stromsburg
Fire discovered about 6 30 Saturday morning north of the First Baptist Church at Bert Wheeler residence on A B Hedblooms property. The blaze, likely wiring fault, left the house wrecked and contents largely lost. The Wheeler family temporarily stays at the Bert Vincent place two blocks away as volunteers praise the fire department for quick response and mitigation.

Second year clover grows more rank and coarser hay but good quality if cut before blooming. Cut on cloudy days or late afternoon to retain leaves and moisture.
