Uniform daylight time proposed to standardize dates
The Senate approved a 1966 start for daylight saving on the last Sunday in April and end on the final Sunday in October. It would not force standard time where chosen, but would ban double daylight time and save millions for bus, rail, and broadcasting sectors. House action and presidential signature are still needed.
