First Communicants At Catholic Churches

Sunday June 9 marked the end of two weeks of daily sessions for the St. Vincent and St. Andrew religious vacation schools. Sixty six at St. Vincent and twelve at St. Andrew earned solemn first communion. New Owner For Osceola Record Starting July 1

The Osceola Record will pass from Mr. and Mrs. Perry N. Sapp to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Waterman of Hill City Kansas. The Watermans will take over July 1 and plan to move to Osceola within a week. Don Waterman, current advertising manager of Hill City Times, brings broad newspaper experience and Kansas roots.

Wausa Student Receives 4-H Animal Health Scholarship

Osceola Edged by Clarks in Twelve Inning Thriller

Service Men Stationed In Fort Sill And Europe

Army specialists Ronald G. Nyberg and John Y Bernt are assigned to Battery A 598th Field Artillery at Fort Sill and the 498th Engineer Battalion in Germany respectively. Nyberg is a supply clerk and farmer from Norfolk area with Norwalk Junior College ties. Bernt is an ordinance mechanic from Osceola who entered in July 1956 and arrived in Europe last spring. Glen R. Brazee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brazee, completed Airborne Cadet Combat Group training May 4 at Fort Campbell and is stationed at Fort Benning in the final week of jump school, aiming to return to Fort Campbell after air school. Brazee notes his strong conditioning from airborne training.

Osceola pastor Robert V. Johnson of St. Paul Lutheran Church will travel to Omaha for the 98th annual Augustana Lutheran Church synod June 17 to 23. About 584 delegates and 1,000 visitors will attend, the first Omaha synod since 1937, with town hall night and sessions led by Rev. Dr. Wilton E. Bergstrand and Rev. Dr. Carl E.
