Mrs Ed Ryan died in Osceola Nebraska on June 6 1926 at age 56 9 9. She married Edward H Ryan March 7 1893 at Osceola and left five children Howard Opal Forrest Frances and Verlie Maude who died earlier. She moved from Iowa to Nebraska as a child and joined Wayland Christian church at 17. Funeral held at home with Rev Taylor. burial in Wayland Cemetery.

The Record Replaces Old Display Faces With New
The Record dumps display type into the hell box and installs several new display faces. Much of the old type has served for a quarter century or more but is no longer useful. Type founders, still at war in spirit, sell display type from 75c to $1 per pound and junk used type at about 14c. The paper notes improved printing capacity with new equipment to meet printing needs.

D C Burns drove to Lincoln and back on Saturday with Lulu Burne and Mrs. Lloyd Burns staying for several days. R W Eaton of Omaha addressed 175 eighth grade graduates last Saturday on Hiawatha. Photographs from the event are on display at Peterson Studio. A spelling contest ended with high scores by Marion Halquist Melvin Thompson Elton Anderson Doris Gondringer Margaret Burkman and Buleah Gestrine. District 1 had ten grads District 14 seven. A noon banquet at the M E Church featured J C Hagey of Edgar Nebr who spoke to the students. Mr and Mrs Hagey then left for Yellowstone National Park for a vacation.

Music Recital At Presbyterian Church Recalls Prize Winners
Mrs Maurine Schuman hosted a recital for her music pupils at the Presbyterian Church on Tuesday. Farmer Found Dead In Field In Polk County
John Smolenski a 67 year old Polk county farmer was found dead in his farm yard Friday afternoon from heart trouble. He was born in Poland on December 10, 1858 and immigrated about four years ago. Survived by wife Mary Boruch five children and two sisters, funeral held Monday at St Stanislaus church Duncan.

Osceola Pool Opens Next Tuesday With Bath Tickets
If the weather holds, the Osceola swimming pool will open to the public next Tuesday. Tickets good for 24 baths are sold this year at 3 dollars for children and 5 dollars for adults. The pool will operate each afternoon and evening except Sunday evenings. Cherries on sale. see Sam Crouse.
