Eighth Grade Graduation Held With 170 diplomas awarded
The County Eighth Grade graduation exercises occur tomorrow at 2:00 PM in the Auditorium. County Superintendent Huston will present diplomas to 170 graduates, with C A Fulmer of Lincoln giving the address and Mrs R J Inness reading. Performances include instrumental and vocal selections and a list of graduates from districts 1 through 72, including Robert McGimpsey, Tim Crow, Naomi Hartman, Clair McCormick, Martha Pehrson, Harlan Johnson, Vera Anderson, and many others.

Five Year Old Injured By Hatchet Accident

Hail Storm Damages Farms North of Shelby
A heavy hail storm struck the valley country north of Shelby last night causing damage to multiple farms. James McMeekin reports 15 percent loss with a nearby McMeekin farm suffering a third loss. Valley damage is worse but phone lines are down for details. Large hail arrived around six o clock. Osceola residents watched the storm approach from the northwest and move northeast away from town.

Ammonia Plant Gas Leak Hits Hansen and Frahm Market
A temporary water supply stoppage in the city led to an ammonia pipe burst at Hansen and Frahm meat market. Gas filled the building and nearby streets. Will Hansen used a gas mask, Carl Frahm bandaged his head, and they opened windows to vent the fumes until it was safe to reenter.

Death of Alex Toponce Pioneer Leader in Utah
Alex Toponce a veteran of Johnston's army who arrived in Utah in May 1858 died on Saturday at over 80. A trail maker freighter cattleman and miner his career spanned wealth and enterprise before reverses.
