County Commissioners Approve Funds in Polk County July 1964
Osceola Nebraska July 21 1964 Polk County Board of County Commissioners met in regular session with all members present. Claims were audited and allowed across funds including general fund emergency relief bridge and county programs. Mayre Sundberg of Craig traveled to spend two weeks with Howard Sundberg. Monday afternoon guests at Robert Baker's home included Steven Elaine and Mary Jo Wegmann from Colorado Springs, with Loris Neal and Central City visitors present for the Neal birthday celebration. Mr and Mrs Ray Warner marked their 50th wedding anniversary and Mr and Mrs Vern Anderson observed their 25th anniversary at Second Baptist Church in Lincoln. Kathy Jensen visited Morris Nielsen's home, and Saturday evening Joe Jensen of York visited the Nielsens.

Marinwood boy revived after near drowning in pool incident
A three year old Marinwood boy was found face down semiconscious in a neighbor's pool yesterday. Firemen and a physician revived him after he was pulled from the water by Mrs. Thomas Husak, pool owner. The child, Amoroso, son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Amoroso, was said to be in good condition today. The incident occurred while he was playing with Husak's children. The Husak family is linked to Osceola through Mrs. Husak. Local acquaintances Miss Dorothy Gondringer, Sioux City, and Miss Bernice Welch visited Osceola and Shelby recently.
