A youth identified as Eldon Medicine Horn, 19, of Lakes Andes South Dakota, was arrested after a station wagon left its premises at 12:30 a.m. and later found two miles north of Norfolk. He had previously stolen a car at Salina Kansas and abandoned it at Geneva Nebraska and is on probation in South Dakota for third degree burglary. He was returned to Osceola and bound over to the District Court.

Hannah Herrmann Dies at 84 in Wesley Chapel Community
Hannah C. Herrmann died Thursday night July 20 at Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital after being taken there earlier that day. She and her late husband Adam Herrmann lived many years in the Wesley Chapel area. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church with Rev. Robert V. Johnson officiating. Interment followed in Osceola Cemetery.

Osceola Polk fair to host 20 event Tour of Thrills
The Tournament of Thrills brings 20 stunt acts to Osceola on August 16 with Don Chadwick headlining. He and 16 trained stuntmen will perform automobile dives, end-over-end crashes, and flaming dives with 1961 Fords and Falcons, plus motorcycle feats and a diving car act. Fire Destroys Tlamka Home in Osceola
A fire of unknown origin destroyed the Emma Tlamka residence in southeast Osceola Friday night. The Conrads reported the blaze at midnight and firefighters could not save the house or belongings, but protected nearby property belonging to Dave and Inez Anderson. The Bernt family and four children were away at the time.
