Mrs. John Bohler of Jalapa, wife of the borough Supervisor, cracked an egg that yielded a small perfect egg with a speckled shell containing a partially developed, perfectly formed snake. The odd find was reported in the Pottsville Chronicle.

Frankie Taylor, a 17 year old from St. John and Maine, was jailed for six months in Albany Penitentiary after posing as a wandering petitioner.
