Communal plea on fireworks risk in Osceola 1880

An Osceola communication dated June 28 1880 signed Property owners with no Insurance warns parents and others to curb careless use of firecrackers torpedoes and fireworks under sidewalks and in alleys. It notes towns without fire departments are vulnerable to fires and urges a vigilant citizens committee to oversee the next few days.

Marriage of Rev and Mrs Weeber Celebrated in Grand Presbyterian Ceremony

The Brownville Advertiser reports Gov Furnas and wife attending the marriage of their daughter to Rev Little of Omaha presiding. The ceremony occurred at eleven with a wedding bell and floral décor, followed by a lavish reception. The bride wore brown grosgrain silk. the groom in a black Prince Albert. The couple departed by train at two for Osceola.
