Goldy A Birchfield born September 8 1894 Osceola Nebraska died January 16 1923 at his home aged 28 years 4 months and 7 days He married Dolly St John of Fairview Oklahoma October 16 1919 and leaves a widow mother aunt and uncle He served in World War I enlisting December 2 1917 at Grand Island Nebraska and rose to sergeant in baker company 351 He later attended the Vocational Training School at Lincoln and worked as assistant health inspector before health failures led to his death Funeral services were held January 17 1923 at the First Methodist church Osceola with American Legion aid and burial in Osceola Cemetery.

Anniversary Celebration Marks 44 Years for Kunkel Couple
Last Sunday honored the forty fourth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs D H Kunkel with friends gathering at their Newburg Pennsylvania home. They wed January fourteen eighteen seventy eight in Newburg and moved to Osceola Nebraska where Dave farmed and edited a Polk County farm paper. They later ran a drug business and served with the Polk Butler County Insurance Co as secretary. The couple had five children and the event closed with well wishes for many more happy years.
