The Gand Army Post and Womens Relief Corps hosted their annual dinner at Grand M,rnne Tall with officers installed by W Gregg. He praised the post founded Sept 2, 1869 and noted 165 members and governors from the post contributing to Nebraska. New officers for the Post and for the W R C were announced and welcomed by attendees.

Mrs Emmett Beebe died at 1 40 Saturday morning in Devholm Saskatchewan Canada telegram announced. She leaves her husband six children five sons and a daughter. Her parents A W Ransom and siblings reside in Polk County while her husband’s brother G W Beebe lives in Hackberry precinct. Funeral plans not yet known.

A Sunday night turnout at the Armory featured Rev C A Spaulding arguing for universal suffrage while The Record editor spoke against it. Judge Stiles chaired as negative side won by a small margin and a winter follow up debate was announced. An upcoming military ball on Friday January 16 features the Hampton Orchestra from Lincoln and improved dancing space.
