The Farmers Grain Company will hold its annual meeting of stockholders at the Osceola office on Tuesday January 26.

New Manager Named for Farmers Grain Co Osceola

Melvin S Pearson is appointed manager at Farmers Grain Co Osceola succeeding W E Pierson whose resignation was accepted effective January 1. Pearson arrived from Ceresco last September to prepare for his duties. Ed Schnaase becomes the new elevator assistant. Bill Pierson has guided the firm for about nine years and will stay in Osceola to lead the flour mill and feed grinding business when reestablished at the north elevator.

Federal Aid Road Funds Apportioned to States

Secretary of Agriculture Jardine announces a $73,125,000 apportionment to the states for Federal aid roads for the fiscal year starting July 1. Funds, authorized by the 1925 Post Office Appropriation Act, support the highway system and progress on about 10,000 miles completed in 1925.

The Osceola Woman's Club held its first regular meeting of the year at the schoolhouse. Discussion focused on Home Survey, public utility help, and expanding Community Service through the state and national departments. Members explored business conditions, urged public input, and planned departments and activities across Arts and Crafts, Music, Drama, and Literature.

Ninety-one guests and members attended the Osceola Womans Club New Year reception at the First Methodist church. A 2 20 program featured solos, poems, and city month representations, followed by an arts and crafts mixer and refreshments led by Mrs. Lillian McBeth.

Local farmers report horse losses from corn stalk disease

Farmers in the community report several horses dying from cornstalk disease in the last ten days. Visitors noted include Mrs. Hally Roseberry and Mr and Mrs Floyd West and Lester Davis at Ray Brigham's residence.

Osceola Mill To Open Under New Management

Osceola celebrates the purchase of the old elevator and flour mill by Ed Wagner with plans to reopen soon. W. E. Pierson, former Farmers Grain Co. manager, will oversee work. The move pleases farmers and business interests, aiding the community’s economy. Also, the Osceola volunteer fire department met at city hall with large turnout and a smoker for P. E. Sickles who moves to Gothenburg. Mrs. D. C. Burns is reported ill.

Samaritans to Visit Osceola February Festival

The Ancient and Mystic Order of Samaritans will visit Osceola on February 3 for a large parade and the展示 of their bear, described as the playground of Odd Fellowship. A large visiting delegation from across the state will attend, with secret class work planned at the event. Local Odd Fellows and Encampment units recently installed officers.

Obituary: Hubert Kropatsch Dies After Illness at 43

The St. Andrews community mourns as Hubert Kropatsch dies aged 43 after months with Bright's disease and pneumonia. He leaves a wife Pauline Hebday and five children, plus his mother Mrs. John Kropatsch and four sisters. Funeral set for Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Church.

Governor Names 50 to Lead Farm Relief Fight in Nebraska
