Rationing Board appoints Polk County office for new tires
The Nebraska Advisory Defense Committee names Polk County members George Craven as chair John Falk and W E Kinney to oversee tire certificates when the ban ends January 5. OPA rules limit sales to defense priority vehicles with quotas based on commercial registrations and require boards to issue certificates, keep records and report to the State Defense Committee. Rubber shortages driven by wartime advances spur tight controls on tire distribution nationwide.
