Osceola Neb February items report local visits sales and events. Dances plays and a road weather block. Mrs Casperson died near Shelby and marriages at Stark. Public notices include business changes with Monson Olson dissolution and Henderson retirement at Osceola Hardware. People travel to Lincoln Omaha and Lincoln for auctions sales and entertainment.
List shows uncalled letters and postal packages at Osceola Nebraska post office for the week ending February 1 1905. Included are names and initials of residents awaiting delivery and pending mail.
The annual March meeting of the Polk County Agricultural association is set for Saturday March 4 at 2 p.m. at the court house. The foundation for a successful fair will be laid, and all interested are urged to attend. G T Ray, Sec.
By resolution the Osceola Nebraska village board changes its regular meeting place from the Henderson block to the law office of Mills & Mills in the Monson block on the west side of the public square. Meetings will be held there henceforth.
Last evening at the home of the bride's mother Lorance M Nickell and Emma M Zang were married by Rev Knox Boude in a quiet ceremony attended only by relatives They will set up housekeeping on the Chas Hope farm Both are well known and hold the regard of all who know them The Record extends congratulations
The Sons of Veterans banquet at Wolz's parlors concluded the state encampment in the city after two days of session. George Wolz led as toastmaster for a seven course meal with many toasts. Attendees included J. F. McBeth and others from Osceola, Columbus, Hooper, and Fremont. Officers elected for next year were Bert J. Galley as Division Commander Fred H. Richards as senior vice commander John M. Foy as junior vice commander James McBeth and C V Heine as division council. Next encampment set for February 1906 in Columbus.
Gideon Burtch born in Summerville New York died at home near Silver Creek Nebraska February 4 1905 at age 66. He began ministry at eighteen and served continuously except 1864 1865 Civil War service in Co E 8th Wisconsin Volunteers. He graduated Hamline University 1869 Garrett Biblical Institute 1871 ordained deacon 1873 and elder 1897. Survived by wife Ellen Whitney four sons two brothers and one sister.

An immense audience attended the Osceola firemen's banquet with R. A. Mi presiding. A short musical program featured Anna Gylling, Fitz Rasmussen, Hallie Rum, Maurine and Geralyn Walrath. J. M. Makeever sent $25, boosting receipts to about $100 as baskets and a dance followed the meal.
