Miss Goldie Benson was in Stroms burg between trains Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Walford were Polk visitors on Tuesday. Dewey Bush and Rachel Bush of Polk county and Mrs. James G. Bush took dinner at the home of S. J. Bush. Thursday, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Moore returned to Lincoln after several weeks with their daughter Mrs. J. J. Lampshire. The Foreign Missionary Society met with Mrs. Geo. Grosvenor on Tuesday February 8. An interesting meeting is reported with attendees listed. A large gathering of 35 friends with baskets visited Saturday morning to help with chores and a meal. Oscar Bergaline near Hordville found a calf bled to death from rat damage. Scar Granting returned Saturday from Lincoln where he attended a convention. Miss Edith Lindahl and Miss Mable Larson were entertained to supper by Isaac Benson and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elsia Bush of Big Springs came Thursday to be with Mrs. Bush’s mother Mrs. Gea C Hagen of Polk who died Thursday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest in Arborville cemetery. George Beebe died at his home six miles southeast of the city in Hackberry precinct at noon yesterday after a brief illness of typhoid pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at 1 p m tomorrow at the home conducted by Rev. H. H. Harmon of Lincoln. burial in Hoffer cemetery. He was 53. The death brings deep sadness to friends who did not know of his illness. Obituary publication will be Thursday.
Gresham residents host and visit kin across Nebraska. Mrs J M Lindstrom and her son spent weekend in York with her parents Mr and Mrs D H Michener. D H Michener of York visited Gresham relatives Wednesday afternoon. Chas Bader attended the Threshermen's Association convention in Lincoln Tuesday. Mrs W Robertson rode to York Wednesday evening. Mrs L A Cook and grandson Cecil traveled east Wednesday noon. Wm Isch of Palisade Nebr visited his mother Mrs M Gudgel and brother Fred Isch last Saturday. Mrs J J Brittett and children returned to Omaha Tuesday after visiting Mr and Mrs John Lindquist. Ea Hewitt of David was Sunday guest of Miss Maude Maule. Mrs C A Lindstrom hosted a Valentine party for the young people's class Tuesday evening. Perry Pogue of Shelby stopped Thursday noon on way from Greeley to visit Gresham relatives. plans to move to Greeley around March 1. Miss Kate and Mudreg Davidson also mentioned.
