A National Geographic bulletin extols Malta 1565 siege heroism and its layered history. It notes Malta’s role as a Mediterranean crossroads, the Knights of Malta defense against the Turkish horde, and Malta as a keeper of western civilization’s memory. It adds calendar notes and a claim that Jewish chronology marks Malta’s history. It also cites life expectancy trends tied to civilization.
