The nation expresses deep sorrow at the death of Woodrow Wilson. He is lauded as a respected leader who served as War President and championed enduring principles, leaving a lasting memory among Americans who valued his dedication to the country.
The nation gave a sorrowful farewell to Woodrow Wilson with church rites and a soldier's taps. Services were held at his home and cathedral, attended by family, officials, and foreign leaders, before his crypt was sealed.
St Pauls Ev Lutheran Church hosts Sunday School at 10:00 with Superintendent WN L Nelson. Divine worship at 11:00 in Swedish and 7:30 p.m. Evening service. Synod foreign mission offering next Sunday at morning service. Luther League meets Thursday Feb 14 at 8:00 p.m. Hostesses Mrs Nelson and Mrs Swanson. Program promised. all ages welcome.
Edwin G. Severine and Helen M. Noyd listed, ages 22 and 19, in a forthcoming community notice detailing a local event and associated arrangements.

Osceola boys lost to Stromsburg by 18 to 8 at the high school gym. The Friday night effort left Osceola trailing as Stromsburg secured the win. Boys teams from Stromsburg visited Osceola for a league game.
Washington civil service commission cancels the Osceola Nebraska postmaster examination. Postmaster W E Snider to publish the cancellation and return all remaining supplies to the department. Signed by John D Doyle president of the commission.
Twenty four members attended the regular Monday Night Club gathering in the Presbyterian church basement. The program featured progressive games Rock and Pit with prizes to Mr. Duncan Miss Heinen and consolation to Mr. Heald Mrs. Courtney. A fun pig game followed with Mrs. Heald excelling and Mrs. George Campbell taking the low score. A luncheon and Valentine partner selection added festive decorations. Committee members were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hassler Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Steeple and Mr. and Mrs. Phil Douglas.

Heald won first prize and Mrs. Wm. Heitzman the consolation at a recent gathering. A bridge luncheon saw Mrs. John Fillman take first, Mrs. Sam Crouse second. The Drama department of the Woman’s Club plans a meeting next Tuesday evening with Mrs. W. H. Clark. The Grace and Valley Missionary Society gathered with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Koehler. Mrs. Walter Koehler assisted. The M. E. church young people’s class runs a contest to see which side wins most members, with a Valentine party Friday Feb 15. Lunch is ten cents to cover class dues. Appreciation for teacher Mrs. Taylor calls for diligent class growth in Sunday school.
The Parent-Teachers Association will hold its regular meeting Monday February 11 at 7:30 PM in the high school assembly room. The program includes a musical number The American Apostle of Thrift and talks on thrift and foresight by W S Heitzman N L Nelson and Mrs C E B Andrews. Mrs A A Beatty is secretary.
Claus Alfred Johnson born January 14 1849 in Bringetofta Jonkopings län Sweden died January 30 1924 in Orient South Dakota aged 75 years 15 days. Immigrated 1869 lived Henry County Illinois 1871 moved to Page County Iowa 1878 then Polk County Iowa later settled in Orient. Funeral February 3 1924 Swede Home Lutheran church. Survived by eleven children twenty four grandchildren one brother and one sister. Burial Swede Home cemetery.
County Judge F. H. Ball and Mrs. Ball traveled to Lincoln yesterday morning where the judge will seek treatment for a nasal hemorrhage that has troubled him for weeks. Officials cite heavy office work as a potential trigger and hope rest will restore him to normal.
The Polk County Ministerial Association convened at the courthouse on February 5 with seven ministers present. Special discussions covered topics including the Ku Klux Klan led by Rev. C. E. Ruch of Shalby and Rev. Henderson of Gresham, with Rev. J. A. Klein presiding in the absence of the president and vice president.
Epworth League members enjoyed a pleasant social on Thursday with about forty attendees. The note invites worship and reports a study of the W. M. S. work as very interesting, with services scheduled for 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM and a midweek service Wednesday at 7:30 PM. H. A. Taylor, Pastor.

The Osceola Camp of Woodmen held its thirty sixth annual banquet at the Odd Fellows Block with a fine dinner for Woodmen members and families. Legion members performed including a double quartet and minstrel acts. Rev H A Taylor gave the main address as the event praised for its strong order and good attendance despite weather. The Osceola camp class adoption occurred on March 6.
