The Farm ers Grain Co annual meeting was held Tuesday January 30 at the G A R Hall. A W Shorthill of Omaha secretary of the Nebraska Live Stock and Grain Company spoke and County agent Kelly gave a short talk. Officers were re elected for 1928. A noon dinner was served by the Ladies Aid in the M E Church basement.

Harvey Heald of Osceola defeats fears and nerves to win the 112-pound amateur boxing championship in Omaha last week. Heald drew a bye in the semi finals, then was declared the winner when the Italian finalist refused to fight, earning a gold medal and a chance to compete in Omaha's April senior tournament.

Polk County Nebraska to Retest Cattle for Tuberculosis
The Nebraska Department of Agriculture and U S Bureau of Animal Industry will begin a countywide retest of Polk County cattle for tuberculosis on Monday January 30 1928. At least twenty percent of herds must be tested and all herds with prior TB cattle retested. The aim is to determine if the county remains a modified TB free area and to secure early reaccreditation through farmer cooperation.
