Osceola Women Injured in Highway Crash

Mrs Clyde Kennedy and three daughters Irene Dorothy and Margaret were seriously hurt Saturday night when their car struck a transfer truck owned by Nordberg Brothers of Stromsburg after leaving a filling station on highway 81 near Benedict. They were taken to Benedict for care. Mrs Kennedy and Margaret returned home Monday evening while Irene and Dorothy remained in serious condition.

Anderson Ranks Fourth Among U S Penney Managers

From Monticello, Washington comes news that Sigurd B Anderson, son of Mr and Mrs Axel Anderson of Osceola area, ranks fourth among about 1500 J C Penney store managers in the United States for the third quarter of 1935. The rating covers sales made by the managers personally.

Christmas Programs Highlight Osceola Churches

Osceola churches held a sequence of Christmas events starting with a high school vesper at the Methodist Church Sunday. The Presbyterian Sunday School staged the five part pantomime Christmas Windows and the Methodist Sunday School followed with its Christmas Eve program. The Lutheran Jul-Otta service took place at St Paul’s on Christmas morning and another Sunday School program is planned for tomorrow evening.

Mrs. J. L. Makeever 68 a former Osceola resident died Thursday at her home in Peekskill New York The Makeevers moved to New York about 25 years ago Mr Makeever once served as Polk county attorney and held extensive real estate He remains owner of land near Kearney She is survived by daughter Mrs Douglass Burrelle of Peekskill and two brothers E R Jarmin of Lincoln and J H Jarmin of Osceola

Miniature Bethlehem Display At St Andrew’s Church

Rev. F A Lombardi, now at St Andrew’s Church, built a 12 foot square Bethlehem replica on the altar. The detailed nativity scene features the three roads, the David castle, shepherds, the three kings, the grotto, and distant biblical sites.
