Her fever dropped from dangerous highs, she walks the ward, and doctors expect she will return home soon after five transfusions failed to help. The Osceola native was hospitalized June 24 following graduation.

Osceola Seeks Federal Grant for New Airport
Acting on endorsement from the Osceola Community Club and amid Mayor Pierson, city officials traveled to Lincoln to apply for federal funds to build an Osceola airport. The Navy Department allocates about ten million dollars nationwide for new airfields with most grants used for labor. Miss Ruth Bond backed the car from the garage to drive to the school where she teaches and as it emerged it burst into flames. The car was damaged beyond repair. A short circuit is thought to be the cause.

Mrs. P. B. Campbell named Seal Sale chairman for the 27th annual Christmas Seals drive by the Nebraska Tuberculosis Association. The sale began on Thanksgiving Day with posters, pins, playlets, poems and songs arriving from Omaha.
