The Annual Farm Bureau Meeting will be at Osceola in the Community Room at the Court House on December 11. All interested in Extension Work invited. Dinner cafeteria style in the Farmers Union Store room. Program includes reports, amendments, officer elections, and a luncheon, followed by music and demonstrations.
Almira Query Davis born November 27 1847 in Jasper County Indiana died November 29 1923 at Osceola aged 76. She married Vinson Perry Davis April 24 1866 in Caraq Ia and moved from Fremont to Polk County in 1868. She helped settle the area near Davis Creek, raised seven children, and remained active in church work and nursing during pioneer life. She leaves six surviving children Alice Newcomer deceased 1896 and Vinson Perry Davis deceased 1902, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She died peacefully on Thanksgiving morning after a long illness.
The Drama Dept of the Woman's Club meets Monday evening with Mrs Phil Campbell to study an Irish play under Mrs Wm Merrick. The Music Dept reviews the history of music as members discuss composers on alternate nights. Other society events include Thanksgiving visits, Gabalets hosting, Merry Workers delaying until after holidays, Entre Nous gathering, and a New Year’s Eve club party scheduled.
The marriage of John A. Carlson of Osceola to Mrs. Susar Biggs occurred at the home of the latter’s daughter Mrs. Chas. Cotton in McCook on Saturday morning December 1 at 11 o'clock. Rev. Sink of the Lutheran church officiated with immediate relatives present. The couple returned to Osceola the next day to establish a home in the property west of the Manhattan oil station and will be at home to friends. The Osceola community extends best wishes for their happiness.
In response to an invitation from the Ministerial Union of Oscola a meeting of Polk county ministers and their wives was held at the Presbyterian church. A basket luncheon followed and a county organization was formed with officers Pres Rev Thos FE Barr Osceola vice pres Rev M W Rose Stromsburg secretary Rev C E Ruch Shelby treas Rev W H Hendrickson Fairview. The next gathering will be in Osceola January 8 1924 with a program committee and a committee on by laws reporting at that meeting.
The Burrel Fox family extends heartfelt thanks to the Odd Fellows Rebekahs neighbors and friends for assistance with their corn husking last Monday.
The Ladies Aid bazaar at the Farmers' Union Store last Saturday netted 455 dollars for the Ladies Aid with Camp Fire girls at a separate booth adding 70 dollars in sales. Both groups express thanks to the Farmers' Union for the use of the room and plan to turn the proceeds into their treasuries.

The regular P T A meeting will be held Monday evening December 10 at 7 30 in the high school assembly room. Program includes an art teaching demonstration by Miss Batley and a discussion on art in public schools with Supt I D Huston and Mrs H H Campbell. An invitation is extended to all school patrons. About 32 local neighbors including Odd Fellows and Rebekahs arrived Monday to assist Burrel and Mrs. Fox. By afternoon they had cleaned and stored over 2,060 bushels of corn, aiding the ailing Fox family in a show of community support.

Thanksgiving Day dinner served cafeteria style to about 200. Sixty children participated in the afternoon program of readings plays and music. Mrs Edd Sterup and Mrs Paul Walters received a telegram announcing Herbert Fredrickson of Arpin Wis death and Mrs Sterup left for Wisconsin. Harley Ecklund visited from Lincoln. Mrs Eila Stamm recovering from appendicitis operation in Columbus. Farmers gathered Wednesday to discuss tubercular teat work beginning next Monday. Mrs CC Nelson of Red Cloud Neb and Mrs Bilha Howaire of Dayton Ohio arrived for the visit.
