Soldiers Arrive Home to Welcome Crowd at Osceola

They reached Osceola around 3 am after missing a David City connection and were greeted by bells and a large crowd. The group was escorted to Odd Fellows Hall for a hearty supper before bed. Notables recording the homecoming include E. Hartle, Bert and Lew Garinger, Fred Karrer, Charlie Beltzer, Jack Sisco, and Bert Seger. Shelby boys also returned this morning.

Ruby Cunningham of Osceola Died After Short Illness

Osceola mourns Ruby Cunningham born Feb 8 1891 who died Sunday from an abdominal abscess after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 AM at the M E church with Rev Smith Presiding Elder Crosthwaite and Rev Hull officiating. Her Sunday school class attended in a group and the community extends sympathy to Mr Cunningham and family.

Welcome Home Reception For Spanish American War Soldiers
