The C G Johnson picnic at Buckley Park on August 19 drew 132 attendees including many from Omaha Bladen St Libory Hastings Lincoln St Louis Englewood and York. Newlyweds Lose Barn in West Shelby Fire
Jerome and Mrs. Gabriel, married three weeks, faced disaster when a fire of unknown origin destroyed their barn one mile west of Shelby. The blaze claimed seven tons of hay. Mrs. Gabriel, en route to summon help, lost control of her car but was not seriously injured and remained under observation at Annie Jeffrey Memorial County Hospital.
