Peterson Family Reunion Marks 16th Gathering
The 16th annual Peterson family reunion was held Sunday, August 22 at Osceola park to honor 75 years since Peter Peterson and Carolina settled in Polk County. The clan now numbers 132 across generations, with 60 attending. in the past year there were six births, two marriages and one death. Lillie Chindgren was reelected secretary and historian, Don Swanson elected president. The 1949 reunion will be in Buckley Park on the third Sunday in August.

Body of Conrad Robak Returned for Burial
The body of Pvt. Conrad W. Robak is being returned from Manila aboard the U S Army Transport Dalton Victory and will reach San Francisco about August 12. It will be forwarded to Columbus Nebraska via the American Graves Registration Distribution Center in Kansas City Missouri after notification to next of kin Louis J Robak of Osceola. This transport is one of several bringing Armed Forces dead from the Philippines and Hawaii back to the United States with another ship due in September.
