Beauty Pageant Draws Countywide Interest at Polk Fair
County residents show strong interest as Polk County hosts a beauty pageant at Polk County fairground on Monday night August 25. “Miss Polk County” will be chosen by three out of town judges with over one hundred contestants sponsored by local businesses. The winner advances to Lincoln for the Miss Nebraska title. A “Little Miss Polk County” winner among ages 3 to 6 will also be selected.

Lloyd R. Wilson age 56 va United Insurance vice president was found dead in an Omaha hotel room after a heart ailment. He registered Monday and died about 18 hours earlier. He lived in Lincoln 20 years and was active in Scottish Rite Shrine Masonic lodge. Funeral held in Lincoln with Wyuka interment.
