Nebraska Normal Board seeks 30 percent faculty raises

The Nebraska Normal Board plans a 30 percent average salary increase for faculty at the four state colleges during the 1967-69 biennium. A 15 percent rise would come in the first half, with the remaining boost in the second half. The move could influence similar hikes in other state agencies, notably the University of Nebraska, which has argued teacher pay is too low. Normal board coordinator Freeman Decker said the large boost is needed to catch up and keep.
