Edward Swanson’s engine replaced to finish the run. The outfit owned by F. H. Fredrickson, August Johnson, Albert Johnson, and Chas. Anderson.
Osceola residents hear of travels and visits with Claus Anderson Herman Fredrickson and families visiting Omaha for an indeterminate time. Church activities include Ladies Aid at Swede Home with Mrs John Anstrom and a church talk by Prof Cederburg. The Omaha Motor Truck Association led a Friday visit from Stromsburg with a noon arrival. The Commercial Club arranged a fine dinner at the Presbyterian church and the Merry Workers served guests. The Dan Desdunes Band from Omaha performed in the park to the crowd, and B. C. Baker spoke for the association praising the event as a splendid success.
The Surety Investment Company relocated to the corner building on the square, taking over from John A Carlson who previously owned the site. J F Ayres and staff also moved into new quarters nearby with Dr J J Query occupying an upstairs chiropractic office and Carlson using the basement plumbing shop. The Surety State Bank will occupy the vacated rooms in the Surety Bank building.
George Wills of Shelby demonstrated the Wallis tractor on Mills farm operated by August Janicke. On a recent Friday afternoon a number of locals watched as three 14 inch bottoms plowed varied depths to show hill operation and a very satisfactory showing of the machine.
Polk D. B. Carter visits Lincoln on business. Numerous brief notes list residents trading cars, visiting relatives, and attending church and club meetings. Several items mention farming, a mill sale, a bank staffing shift, and upcoming celebrations including a Polk anniversary event and a joint baseball tournament.
