Bodine mission couple leave for China from Polk
A large Polk congregation honored Rev. and Mrs. Hugo G Bodine with a farewell Friday July 27 as they prepare Monday to sail for the Pacific coast then China to serve as missionaries. Speakers included Rev O F Tornquist and Rev W Westlund with music by local singers. A benevolent collection and social hour followed, amid mixed joy and sadness for their departure.

Farmers Elevator Accepted First Grain Load at 63 Cents
The Farmers Elevator was completed last week and Friday was accepted and paid for. The first load of grain a sixty bushel shipment of oats was unloaded there in the afternoon brought by W F Sarow of Polk County. The price paid was 63 cents per bushel.
